iPhone 4G, 4.1 Unlock Scam Alert (iOS, jailbreak, Auckland, news, report, warning, con, man)

Wed, December 2nd, 2010-- help out a client to fully unlocked his UK iPhone 4G successfully thus morning.  http://tiny.cc/41scam

This customer was conned by a slick-talking con in Auckland Central yesterday. The iPhone was running 4.0.2 and do not accept New Zealand SIM card.

When the customer was at the shop of this  dodgy "expert" (client said he was not impressed by his $2 Shop style retail setup) he was charged $50 to "inspect" the iPhone 4G.

At the client's horror, the idiot "iPhone Specialist" had bricked the iPhone and stuffed Ut into recovery mode! Phone was working and he paid $50 to get it bricked by this idiot.

The customer said he was conned and trapped by this dodgy fellow"s ads on the Internet (which uses pirated and copyrighted material) and false promises over the phone inquiries to unlock your iPhone!  It was told that this scam had started around February 2010 (means way before the 3.1.3 unlock) which a few people had fell victim to!

The loser "iPhone specialist" refused to refund the $50 until the client threatened to file a police report!

According to sources, this failed "specialist" con cannot unlock iPhone properly but survive on cheat clients with $50 or even $85 "inspection fee" for each iPhone!

The victim was introduced to us by an authorized network provider located in a North Shore shopping Mall.

Also check with authorized distributors or insurance companies as they know who is the real iPhone repair and unlock specialist! Ask fir trade references or any client reference before you part with your iPhone.
