Rangitoto Volcanic Island: Day trip, 24-10-2010 (holiday, sea, ocean, seagull, waves, sun, tourism, lifestyle, ferry, cruise, Auckland)
We have had a great day out on 24-10-2010 to Rangitoto Island off Auckland City, New Zealand. The Lew fmaily and our family for this day trip. The sun was strong and perfect for taking pictures and relaxing. Picture shown below were taken only with my humble Nokia N85 camera!

Nokia N8 review: Director of photography (tech, news, mobile, phone, android, 2010, report, update, Auckland)

We’ve come to take Nokia for granted in the low end or the business class but it seems it has lost the knack for killer phones, run out of royal blood. It’s up to the Nseries to fix it all up. The Nokia N8 may just turn out to be the right cure. With that kind of hardware, it’s a smartphone you’d be mad to ignore. For a change we are not talking netbook-grade processing power or loads of RAM. The Finnish engineers often like to make a point about Symbian being the most resource-effective OS. We’ve seen it run reasonably fast indeed on even slower CPUs. This time though it’s Symbian ^3, so we’ll have to see it again to believe it.

There’s certainly a lot of pressure on the Nokia N8. People are probably expecting more from it than the very guys who designed it. But the N8 was never meant to compete with the iPhone 4 or the Galaxy S. At least, that’s what Nokia will gladly have you believe.
You see, with the Nokia N8 it’s not about who the competition is. Not about the business benefits of a smartphone, not about the available apps. It’s about the best camera in the business. Now, we’ll have to see about that. Again.
The N8 already managed to put a dedicated digicam to shame in our recent blind test. But it will take more than that to get the thumbs up at the end of a full review. The camera is certainly impressive but it’s the overall balance and bang-for-buck that count most in our books here so the N8 better have more aces up its sleeve.

Samsung to unveil the Google Nexus S on 8 November? (tech, news, update, Auckland, "Android Repair", "iPhone Unlock", Auckland)
There is something cooking over at the Samsung camp and we're about to see what in just two weeks, on 8 November. Rumor has it, this might actually be the next-gen Google Nexus, the Nexus S (Nexus Two). <http://tiny.cc/samsungnexus>
There's nothing certain yet, but Samsung has a press event scheduled for the 8 November where a new Android smartphone will be presented.
There's already a brew of rumors that Google will present their next Nexus smartphone before the end of the year. Adding two and two together, it's only natural to assume that the new Nexus phone is what Samsung will present.
In fact, rumors go as far as saying that the new Google phone will be a restyled Samsung Galaxy S - hence the name, Nexus S.
Gizmodo reportedly has an unidentified source that confrms all these rumors and add that the handset has a front-facing secondary camera and a curved back. Other than that it's the Galaxy S alright.
The Nexus S should be running the latest and greatest of Android OS and we're guessing it's the yet to be unveiled Android 2.3 a.k.a. Gingerbread.
The Google Nexus S should show up on 8 November and start selling in time for the holidays but there is still no word on its price.

Paul Henry of TVNZ is not a racist - yeah, right; pigs can fly in Napier (news, media, broadcasting, Auckland)
Earlier on I read on a discussion board on facebook.com and there is lady seems to admire Paul Henry. She commented (I quote directly):
"Oh thanks for the laugh mate, your retorts are stellar, and have the exact same problems that you see in my own posts.
Paul Henry, is a smart, intelligent man, with child like humour, his laugh is a joy, and cracks me up, I'm a staunch labour supporter, yet i agree with most of Paul's views."
